The 800kg Big John Fishing Magnet is the strongest in our magnet fishing range. It is a double-sided Neodymium magnet, consisting of 2 magnets on either side effectively giving you a combined strength of 1600kg’s, which gives you the benefit of twice the surface area to snatch objects, effectively doubling your chances to attract something great.

A magnet of this size, 135mm in diameter and 40mm in thickness, together with its insane pulling strength of 800kg on both sides (1600kg combined strength) is guaranteed to give you the best opportunity for a rewarding catch.

BIG JOHN FISHING MAGNET – 800KG DOUBLE-SIDED

The 800kg Big John Fishing Magnet is the strongest in our magnet fishing range. It is a double-sided Neodymium magnet, consisting of 2 magnets on either side effectively giving you a combined strength of 1600kg’s, which gives you the benefit of twice the surface area to snatch objects, effectively doubling your chances to attract something great.

A magnet of this size, 135mm in diameter and 40mm in thickness, together with its insane pulling strength of 800kg on both sides (1600kg combined strength) is guaranteed to give you the best opportunity for a rewarding catch.

It comes supplied with an M12 Eye Bolt made of 304-grade Stainless Steel which can be mounted on either the top or side of the fishing magnet where there are pre-existing thread receivers. We recommend mounting it on the side of the fishing magnet as this doubles the magnet’s surface area, effectively doubling your odds of catching something.

Our fishing magnets are coated in a thin NiCuNi protective layer preventing damage to the internal magnets and making them suitable for magnet fishing in the sea, rivers and dams.

PRECAUTIONS

The fishing magnet’s magnetic ends may show signs of wear due to strong forces and heavy impacts received. Throwing the fishing magnet into the water, they tend to hit rocks, and hidden objects, and when latching on to metal, they do so with considerable force. Try to avoid areas with rocks as the fishing magnets can crack on impact with such objects.

Removing the magnets from the metal object also applies wear to the magnet as this is typically done by sliding and scraping the metal object of the magnet’s surface.

When used in water, especially seawater, you will see rust appear, where the protective coating has been pierced or worn through.

This kind of wear is normal and is expected, even after only a few uses, due to the above factors.

Keep magnets away from persons with pacemakers, electronics, and sensitive instruments such as avionics to avoid possible permanent damage or disruption in their use.

The magnets exert a tremendous crushing force if fingers and body parts are trapped between the magnet and metal objects. Keep magnets away from children.

AFTERCARE TIPS

  • Rinse the magnet off in freshwater after each use
  • Apply an anti-rust agent such as Q20 after each use
  • Leave a coating of an anti-rust agent on the magnet while in storage and between use
  • Avoid throwing or dropping the magnet into the water where you know there are rocks and similar hard objects
  • Apply Loctite or similar nut locking agents to the thread of the eyebolt to prevent unthreading
  • After each throw check the eyebolt to ensure it is still tight and inspect the rope and knot for wear

INTERESTING FISHING MAGNET INFORMATION

The magnet Vertical Pull Strength Rating of 800kg is measured in laboratory conditions using a solid steel plate which is 10mm thick with the magnet placed in the centre of the plate and positioned horizontally on top. An instrument that measures force pulls the magnet steadily upwards at a constant pulling speed of 80mm per minute. The force in kilograms, at the point just prior to the magnet breaking away from the steel plate, is recorded and constitutes the magnet’s vertical pull strength rating.
